A Dead Perfect 5 ⭐️ read

Our review

The DC Maggie Jamieson series by Noelle Holten is fast becoming THE crime fiction binge read to get stuck into. 16th October sees the latest latest investigation, so make sure you get your hands on it. Perfect Dead gives us a glimpse of a particularly gruesome set of murders, and takes us into the mind of the killer as well as giving us a hair raising ride while he closes in on Maggie’s friend Kate. Meanwhile, Maggie is struggling with her feelings, which conflict her somewhat in her investigation. This is a tightly-plotted book, full of tension right to the end. It’s got everything!

One of the things I love about this series is the authentic insight into the probation service, which gives it a little extra on the standard police procedural, and I can’t wait to see more from Noelle.

You don’t have to have read the first two books in the series to enjoy this one, but why would you not? They’re great – I thoroughly recommend you treat yourself (and the lockdown evenings will fly by)!

What’s it about?

When the body of a young woman is found in a local park, DC Maggie Jamieson knows she’s dealing with no ordinary killer.  The murder victim has been disfigured; her outfit changed to resemble someone else.  Someone Maggie knows all too well…her close friend Dr Kate Moloney. Maggie is determined to keep her friend safe, but with Kate already struggling with a threatening stalker, Maggie now fears Kate’s life is in real danger.  Who else would want to harm Kate and why else would the killer be turning his victims into exact replicas – his living dolls?
